M° Mangieri Musicista, compositore e direttore d’orchestra Biography STATE ASCOLTANDO Suonno e fantasia - Nunzio Gallo Francesco Saverio Mangieri was born on 12 december 1919 in S. Pietro al Tanagro (Salerno).  He was a pupil of Carlo Cammarrota (piano and musical direction) and Renato Parodi (harmony and  counterpoint).   He enrolled in the S.I.A.E. in 1952, and became a partner after three years.  The quality of his his  music, evoked the sympathy and encouragement of M° Razzi and Prof. Palmieri (Director and Deputy  Director of RAI).   For this reason, he moved to Rome where, without the support of his first publisher, became friends with several leaders of Via Babbuino and Viale Mazzini. In Rome, he wrote the lyrics of his songs: Varca lucente, Suonno d'ammore, Ddoje stelle so' cadute,  Napoli è sempre Napoli... that ranked at the top of the I, II, III and IV Festival of Naples.   The best singers of that period performed his songs For the film, Mangieri wrote the song O Sisco (sung by Carla Boni & Gino Latilla for the film "Ci  sposeremo a Capri" in 1956) and Geppina Geppy (sung by Totò and Anna Magnani in "Risate di gioia"  of 1960, and subsequently by Quartetto Cetra).
